I had someone contact me and tell me that they wanted me to restore two of their motors. GREAT, I love a twofer...then he told me he wanted me to disassemble the motors, prep them for plating and return the parts to him so he could have them paladin coated...ok...I'm game. So that's what I did and I waited for the parts to be returned to build his motors.
Well I got the parts back a couple days ago, and while each of us learned alot in this process, like which pieces can and cannot easily be coated and "work", the whole experience was different and I actually like the look and the feel is FAR different than regular dichromate. A little harder to handle (you gotta remember I'm a woman and don't have the hand spread of most men so I struggle and do things differently than say Jerry does when he builds a motor, but you learn ways to handle things differently and get the same goal accomplished LOL) The last motor is not complete in that it doesn't have it's harness hold down or ground strap attached yet, the sealant was still drying when I took the photos, but that'll be buttoned up tomorrow and this motors will be on their way to their owner on Monday
Anyway I thought I'd post some photos of these motors for anyone else who might be considering something a little out of the norm.
